PredictionStrike Announces $10M Series A Led by Bullpen Capital
Gunderson Dettmer represented client PredictionStrike, an online marketplace for sports fans, in its $10 million Series A financing led by Bullpen Capital. PredictionStrike is a simulated stock market platform designed to allow users to buy/sell shares of professional athletes in a fantasy contest, bringing a new way for fans to engage with and analyze their favorite athletes' performances.
PredictionStrike's $10 million financing included participation from MaC Venture Capital, Correlation Ventures, Elevate Capital, Gaingels, HighSage Ventures and Sixty8 Capital.
In the announcement of the transaction, PredictionStrike board member Marlon Nichols said, "This fits between what we know as fantasy, what we know as fandom, and at the same time, you're able to make money on this by holding shares and trading them at the right time. PredictionStrike has basically figured out a way to monetize the fantasy market, which is massive. If we don't see results similar to FanDuel, DraftKings and those folks, something's gone wrong. It definitely has that potential."
The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Randall Clark and included Darien Pun and Tori Stringfellow.
