Jamilah is an associate in the Licensing, Strategic Partnering and Commercial Transactions group.
Jamilah specializes in corporate partnering, strategic alliances, technology protection, and licensing and commercialization of intellectual property and technology assets. Jamilah also focuses on transactional IP issues related to our clients’ financing and M&A activities.
Jamilah represents a wide variety of technology companies from several industries, as well as a number of leading venture capital firms. She has particular experience with international transactions, particularly in Latin America, and is a member of our Latin America practice group. She is a native Spanish speaker and is conversational in Mandarin Chinese.
During law school, Jamilah served as an executive board member for the Black Women Lawyers Association of Northern California and UC Hastings Black Law Students Association. She also earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Culture & Negotiation, where she demonstrated proficiency in negotiating and presenting points of view through intercultural communication.
Prior to law school, Jamilah worked in Beijing, China as an English Teacher for young learners. She also served as a Project Assistant for the Jane Goodall Institute China.
