Gunderson Dettmer Commemorates 2025 Black History Month
Gunderson Dettmer commemorates Black History Month in February 2025 with a series of events across its US offices, access to resources and a tribute to this month’s theme, "The Economic Contributions of African Americans."
Theme
This year, we highlight the significant contributions of Black and African American individuals to the workforce throughout history. Commemorating this theme is essential as it acknowledges the pivotal role Black and African Americans have played in shaping various industries, from skilled trades to services. It also brings to light the challenges they have faced in the labor market, fostering a deeper understanding of ongoing systemic issues.
By celebrating these contributions, we honor the resilience and determination of Black and African American workers who have been instrumental in building the nation’s economy.
Reflection
"This year more than ever, Black History Month is not just about the stories and events which make up the Black experience in the United States but also the rich tapestry and culture which reflect Black people who live across the world and contribute to our society. Black history is a collection of cultural contributions, experiences, struggles, joys, and triumphs which continue through modern day and shape our future." - Maurice Osei, Black Affinity Group Associate Convener and Corporate Associate
