Urban SDK Announces $65 Million Growth Investment from Riverwood Capital
Gunderson Dettmer represented Urban SDK, a leading provider of geospatial AI solutions, in its $65 million growth funding investment from Riverwood Capital.
Urban SDK's tools and geospatial AI capabilities enable cities, states and Departments of Transportation (DOTs) to efficiently deploy limited public resources to best serve and safeguard their constituents. The investment from Riverwood will fuel Urban SDK's rapid growth across the public sector as a category-defining leader, providing a system of action for over 300 civic leaders in 40 states to optimize their resources for smarter, data-driven operations that address cities' emerging safety and infrastructure needs.
“Our mission has always been to equip the government teams serving our communities with the intelligence they need to protect lives and steward public resources responsibly,” said Drew Messer, Co-founder and CEO of Urban SDK, in the announcement of the transaction. “Riverwood Capital's partnership allows us to scale our AI system of action for these governments and civil leaders, accelerating our ability to help communities build safer, more resilient cities.”
The Gunderson deal team was led by Joe Berklund and included Heather Aune, Jace Clegg, Alex Weaver, Jeff Salomon, Tina Xu, James Gately, Sofia Rattes, Matt Miehl, Harison Puder, Julie Bateman, Sam Collier, Elisabeth Bernabe, and Merafe Gedewon.
