Prosus Ventures Leads BeConfident’s R$85 Million Series A

Gunderson Dettmer represented Prosus Ventures as the lead investor in the R$85 million Series A financing of BeConfident, a Brazilian startup with one of the largest AI platforms for education in Latin America.

The new capital will fuel BeConfident’s expansion in the US, Europe, and Asia, with the goal of having 90% of its paying students based in these markets.

“We chose to invest in BeConfident because we believe that the company brings together two rare elements: proven scale and pedagogical innovation based on artificial intelligence,” said Rafael Barbalat, Director of Prosus Ventures in Latin America, in a Forbes Brazil article profiling the transaction. “The global language teaching market is worth billions and is still little explored in terms of AI solutions.”

The Gunderson deal team was led by Christel Moreno and included Eduarda Tavares and Manan Shah.
