Point72 Leads $31M Series A of Defense Tech CX2
Gunderson Dettmer represented client Point72 Ventures as the lead investor in the $31 million Series A financing of CX2, a defense tech company specializing in electronic warfare solutions. CX2’s platform develops advanced software and hardware, including autonomous drones and specialty signals-intelligence payloads, to address critical capability gaps in U.S. defense. The new capital will enable CX2 to accelerate hiring and further the development of its electronic warfare tools.
In the announcement of the transaction, Point72 Ventures partner Chris Morales, “We believe electronic warfare represents one of the most critical capability gaps in US defense. CX2's approach to building attritable, intelligent EW systems aligns perfectly with what we see as the future of warfare.”
The Gunderson deal team was led by Ibrahim Elshamy and included Shawna Reeder, Joe McGinley and Killian McDonald.
