Greenoaks Invests in Defense AI Company Helsing
Gunderson Dettmer represented client Greenoaks in participating in the $487 million Series C financing of Helsing, a defense AI company. Helsing creates AI software to process information from defense systems, boost weapons capabilities in drones and jet fighters and improve battlefield decisions. The company will use the new capital for product development and R&D.
In the announcement of the transaction, Helsing’s three founders Niklas Köhler, Torsten Reil and Gundbert Scherf said, “European security is at a crossroads and Helsing will play a significant role in giving democratic societies the ability to deter and defend. But speed is of the essence. This new funding round allows us to further up the tempo and invest in large-scale R&D and capabilities across all domains.”
The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was co-led by Steve Baglio and Hilary Adams and included Sam Feldman.
