Dragoneer Leads ClickHouse’s Series D
Gunderson Dettmer represented Dragoneer Investment Group as the lead investor in the $400+ million Series D financing of ClickHouse, a fast, open-source columnar database built for real-time data processing and analytics at scale. Bessemer Venture Partners, GIC, Index Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, accounts advised by T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., and WCM Investment Management also participated in the round.
Dragoneer’s investment followed a rigorous evaluation that revealed ClickHouse to be a category-defining leader in the modern data stack. ClickHouse plans to accelerate global expansion and product development across its unified data and AI observability platform, including its new native Postgres service and expanded data lake capabilities.
“Major platform shifts ultimately reward the infrastructure companies that sit closest to production,” said Christian Jensen, Partner at Dragoneer Investment Group, in the announcement of the transaction. “As models become more capable, the bottleneck moves to data infrastructure. ClickHouse stood out because it delivers the performance, efficiency, and reliability required for AI systems operating at scale.”
The Gunderson deal team was led by Jeff Stricker and included Ryan Purcell, Aaron Rubin, Elena Vespoli, Rafa Bellaver, David Koenig, and Greg Miele.
