Chile-Based Femtech Startup Neopausia Raises $563K Series Seed
Gunderson Dettmer represented client Neopausia, a femtech company that seeks to break the taboo surrounding menopause, in its $563,000 seed financing. Ganas Ventures, CDTM Ventures Fund and Semilla Venture participated in the round.
Neopausia offers a digital channel that shares comprehensive information on menopause, manages a network of medical consultations with expert professionals and provides comprehensive post-care support. Currently, the company has a free test available to detect the presence of any of the more than 34 symptoms of menopause, which to date has been completed by more than 90,000 women.
Neopausia will use the new capital to focus on expanding locally and work on product development to enter other markets such as Mexico and the United States.
In the announcement of the transaction, Neopausia co-founder and CEO Nathalie Wilk said, “Today, women can receive care from Chilean doctors. So, what’s missing is adjusting it to other systems: getting local prescriptions, getting reimbursed by your country’s insurance, etc. But we’ll test it with this variable minimum product we have today.”
The Gunderson deal team was led by Dan Green and Brian Willbur and included Daniel Gallo and Felipe Hasenohr.
