The AAPI Affinity Group seeks to promote community building amongst AAPI members and allies and aims to foster collaboration with fellow affinity groups to promote overall diversity, equity, and inclusion at the Firm. The group partners with Firm leaders to support the recruitment of AAPI attorneys and professional staff, and retention advancement of members of the AAPI Affinity Group. Members of the group create pathways for mentorship, advocacy, and recognition for achievements. The group sponsors social events, trainings, workshops, and other professional development efforts firmwide. It aims to spread broad awareness, educate, inform, honor, and celebrate the rich history, culture, and advancement of the many groups that make up the larger AAPI community.
Gunderson’s Black Affinity Group seeks to create a space for attorneys and professional staff of all backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities who are committed to the success of the Black community to connect, have fun, network, forge friendships, build community, and share candid experiences in a safe environment. The Group will support each other in professional advancement, retention, mentorship, and development. The Group also seeks to make an outside impact by amplifying the voices of Gunderson’s Black community members and allies, raising awareness, celebrating the rich history, culture, and contributions of the Black community, and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the firm. The Group aims to create an inclusive and cohesive environment that enhances the working experiences and celebrates the lived experiences of those at the Firm.
The Firm’s People of Color (“POC”) Affinity Group seeks to facilitate continuing efforts to foster a culture of mutual respect and to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion at the Firm as it pertains to all employees. The POC Affinity Group collaborates with Firm leadership to attract, retain, support, and promote outstanding attorneys and professional staff from all backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities. The Group accomplishes this mission by identifying and resolving emerging issues, modifying, and evolving Firm policies and practices to be more inclusive of all people, encouraging Firm-wide participation in DE&I initiatives and events while also sponsoring and developing such programs in partnership with other Firm affinity groups. The Group seeks to create an inclusive and cohesive environment that enhances the working experiences and celebrates the lived experiences of those at the Firm.
The GD Pride Affinity Group provides supportive networks and impactful programming for LGBTQIA+ attorneys, professional staff, and allies that aid in associate development and engagement. It seeks to spread awareness and provide education on LGBTQIA+ experiences. In addition to organizing a mix of social and substantive internal events, the group engages in community service initiatives, advises the Firm regarding issues related to the Firm’s recruitment efforts of LGBTQIA+ law students and laterals, and business development opportunities, and serves as a sounding board for HR to ensure that Gunderson policies are inclusive.
Unidos seeks to promote community building amongst the Latinx community and allies at Gunderson. The group partners with leadership to provide education on the professional experiences of members of the Latinx community and other underrepresented groups at the Firm. Members create pathways for mentorship, advocacy, and recognition for achievements. The group sponsors social events, trainings, workshops, and other professional development efforts firmwide. It aims to spread broad awareness, educate, inform, honor, and celebrate the rich history and culture of the Latinx community. We invite everyone to join even if not Latinx, you are always welcome within the Latin community.
WAG’s mission is to facilitate continuing efforts at the Firm to foster a culture of mutual respect and to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion at the Firm as it pertains to employees from all backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities by promoting recruitment and retention, deepening and expanding mentorship, sponsorship, and peer-to-peer relationships, and hosting firm-wide events that highlight the success and challenges of women and allies at GD and in the legal profession. In doing so, WAG seeks to increase the visibility of resources for all employees at GD who are concerned about equity and inclusion of, women, create opportunities for professional development, support community outreach, and identify issues that affect women and allies, and thoughtfully engage in solution-oriented critical thinking in collaboration with GD’s leadership.
International Affinity Group is a community of globally minded Gunderson attorneys and professional staff with a mission of fostering a culture of curiosity and inclusiveness. We bring together attorneys and professional staff with international upbringing, legal practice, cultural or family ties or other international interests or backgrounds to foster internal community building and deepen external networks. We partner with different members of the firm to celebrate the various cultures and perspectives represented at Gunderson.
The Parents and Caregivers Affinity Group serves to create a supportive community of gender-inclusive parents, caregivers and allies that unite to share knowledge, resources, best practices and help inform relevant policies that further advance the Firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
The Veterans Affinity Group aims to support the inclusion of US and international military veterans, members of the Reserve and National Guard, military family members and other allies at Gunderson Dettmer.
