Emily K. Borman

Emily’s practice focuses on advising employers in all aspects of the employment relationship, with a particular emphasis in the technology industry. Emily leverages her extensive litigation and in-house experience to help clients implement proactive measures to prevent employee claims and foster safe, productive workplaces. She regularly advises employers on human resources matters, hiring and firing practices, layoffs and RIF’s, wage and hour laws, reasonable accommodation, leaves of absence, employee discipline, workplace policies and procedures, and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Emily also counsels employers on best practices to protect and enforce intellectual property rights and restrictive covenants.

On the transactional side, Emily provides assistance and advice on corporate transactions with respect to labor and employment issues, and has considerable experience preparing employment contracts and separation agreements, focusing on the protection of trade secrets and the prevention of improper customer and employee solicitations.

Emily previously worked as a litigation and employment associate at two international law firms, and served as in-house counsel for one of the largest private employers in Los Angeles.
