Emily is an employment law associate in our Silicon Valley office.
Emily provides strategic advice and counseling to employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, including workplace policies and procedures, hiring and firing practices, layoffs and RIF’s, wage and hour laws, reasonable accommodation, leaves of absence, EEO compliance, employee discipline, performance reviews and documentation, unfair competition, and family and medical leave.
Emily has experience as in-house counsel at public corporations and as outside counsel at major law firms and a labor and employment law boutique with a national client base. As in-house counsel for over a decade, Emily handled all areas within the labor and employment context including advice and counsel, directing investigations, managing litigation, developing and conducting policies and trainings, presenting to senior leadership, and serving as legal advisor to multiple cross-functional projects and audits. Prior to going in-house, Emily was an employment litigator for nearly eight years with extensive experience researching, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions, handling discovery, and favorably mediating and settling cases in state and federal tribunals.
Emily received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis, with Honors, majoring in History and graduating Phi Beta Kappa.
